Reviews for the album are coming through daily and can be found in our new ‘Press’ section… We got 8/10 in the NME and they were very nice, saying it’s “one of the best albums of the year so far”… Music isn’t a competition but if it was, which it isn’t, we beat the Courteeners latest effort by a full 5 stars… Metro Online gave it 9/10 which is quite good I’m told… We’ve been asked to record radio sessions for Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Clint Boon for XFM Manchester, BBC Introducing and for our old pal Mogg at All FM… The album’s doing well in Japan and their number one Golf TV programme want to use one of our songs. Weird… Thanks to everyone who came to Llama Festival to see us.. Saturday night was one of our worst ever gigs and Sunday was probably our best ever.
Here’s the weekly news bulletin… Chariot Song is the Japanese iTunes Single Of The Week at the moment, it’s probably worth flying over there and downloading it… Huw Stephens on Radio 1 Introducing made the album his Album Of The Week and played some tracks last night, you can listen again online… Marc Riley and a few other dudes at 6Music have been playing various tracks as have XFM London and Manchester… There’s reviews in Uncut and Q… And Bill Cosby’s a fan apparently
‘Things That Roar’ came out in Japan today to scenes of mass hysteria. Thanks to everyone at Kurofune, especially Noriko for everything they’ve done for us and for the salty snacks they sent over.
It was a big day in Beep land yesterday. The NME ran a feature on us in the Radar section, songs off the album were played on Radio 6Music, XFM and Radio 1 and the album came out in Japan. Cool!
Here’s the album on sale in HMV Shibuya. Check out The Courteeners album at the bottom. Boo-hoo!
